I'm looking for a 500w power supply that is modular and high quality..any reccomendations?
Asrock ALIVE NF6G-VSTA Motherboard
AMD Athlon X2 5200 2.7ghz
Palit 9600gt
1 CD Rom and 1 LITEON DVD Writer
Kingston 2gb RAM
Samsung 160gb Hard Drive

Antec TP New 550All are good choices. I have had a 520HX since before they were publicly available & it is under-rated at 12V@40A, Great PSU!
More than enough for any single GPU, high-end OC'ed gaming machine.:beer:

the Antec BP550 Plus isn't a bad choice if you're looking for something that's less than $100 before any rebates. Pretty sure it's been established that it's a Delta-built unit and not FSP like the hardwired Basiq units.

Yeah, but unfortunately those are some low end units, and Delta isn't foolproof, just look and the EA750.
And the TPN 650W is $95 over at Newegg.

A low-end Delta is still low-end. It's a decent PSU, but noticeably lower quality than the Earthwatts line for example.
A 200W PSU would power your computer, unfortunately the modular PSUs start at 425-450W:
