need a ps that will fit in a aerocool m40 case so it cannot be longer than 140mm. Although this will not be a heavily taxed rig would like a ps between 700-800 watt just in case I decide to expand later on or use it in another system. Will have a mild video card Geforce 8800 gts and one dvd burner and the system will be a oveclocked unlocked AMD Phenom II X2 550 chip.
From what I've saw on newegg the most popular ones in my size are the OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS, Thermaltake W0116RU 750W and a NZXT Performance Power PP800 800W which one of these would be a better buy as far as quality verses money> or is there another one you know of that is 140mm or less in length that would be better. Thanks

Since you only have a single "mild" 8800GTS, you don't really need a wattage that large.

Oh, nice an aerocool M40 :D
I used to have the same thing, wasn't that bad.
Anyway: With your PSU Choice you're a little restricted 'cause of the design of the case it's better to use something with an 80mm Fan.
So you're stuck with a 500W PCP&C.
here (http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/548334-post4.html) and there (http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/575578-post22.html) are some pics of the case, as usual, german comments...
And there isn't much space if the PSU is mounted with the fan up but that's what I'd sugest if a PSU with an 120mm fan is used.

Thanks for the info. The guy I got the case from said he had a CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX which was a tight fit but did work he also has cut out some of the metal below the power supply. Don't know if that was done due to the ps or what.
I might keep my Antec true power 480 in it (real old one) but will have to buy a molex to 8 pin 12v power adapter and a 6 pin power adapter for the video card. Are these adapters really safe? Figure not pulling alot so really should be no issues if I do go this route...thanks

The PC P&C 500W is more than enough & it is probably the best fit possible, get it.

The Enhance-built Silverstone ST50EF-Plus is fairly small, as is the VX450.

ok going with the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 500 but what is the difference between the 500d and the 500? Notice newegg has both. Is the 500d for dell? thanks

Yes the 500D is the Dell replacement model...but as far as I know the only difference is that it doesn't have an on/off switch.

Well, it could be that the ATX connector is not an ATX connector but something DELL specific...
But the fan is on the bottom.
If the metal is cut out, that's not that big of a problem...

oh dear...
I thought they used a standard ATX Case, wich they actualle don't, great...
So you can't use them...
And we're back to the Antec Earthwatts...
