Here (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/ikonik-psu-roundup.html).
CWT DSR platform in trouble?
The design of the senior models of the Vulcan series provokes no questions but both PSUs had problems during the tests. Each sample has problems of its own. The 1000W model has a reduced +5V voltage even though the latter fits within the permissible limits. The 1200W model has problems with its switching regulators that show up as strong pulsation at a frequency of 3.8kHz on the +5V and +3.3V rails.

Isn't DSA/DSR the budget platforms? They ain't no PSH/PUC but like lots of designs they're fine so long as you don't overrate and don't use craptacular components.

DSR is not a budget platform. It's not dedicated for Ikonik or patented by them either.

Just wondering if there was a flaw with the original DSR and CWT said to Ikonic "You want it? Then have it!" and the other (much better) DSR units seen are a revised version of the new platform. Maybe with better step-down converters...

Noticed quite a few gribblies with +3.3V and +5V lately. Guessing design and/or component choice on the step-down convertor cards is causing some headaches on more modern units...
