View Full Version : Who Makes the New PCP&C 1KW PSU?

I have been looking all over for a site that shows the UL number on the "new" PCP&C 1KW PSU. I finally find the pictures below and lo and behold there is no UL number listed on the label.

This is the only "clear" shot I have of the UL and it tells nothing:

Is that power supply made by Win-Tact like the other Turbo-Cool models?

It's Win-Tact as far as I know.

Why is there no proper UL number on it then? 250VAC is most definately NOT a UL number.

Well, I'm not talking recent history. I'm talking maybe even a decade ago, when I was reading boot magazine, before it turned into MaximumPC.

How loud is it under 70% load?

IIRC, they have been reviewed as being pretty quiet but I doubt they had it loaded at 70%.

ON TOPIC: I've been looking at pics and can't find a clear shot of the UL#. Some lables have a number under the RU.

No. Never.

The original Silencers (years of Boot magazine, for example) were built by SPI (now FSP.) The Turbo-Cool is a relatively new product as has always been built by WinTact.

Some Silencers have been Win-Tact as well - one 400W I saw was almost identical to the TC 510W.

Edit - now I can't remember where I saw that Silencer - memory could be fuzzy, and I could be thinking of the Turbocool 475W they reviewed at Extreme OC.

As I posted in another thread, their early ATX stuff was made by FSP.

PCP&C "modified" them by installing Panaflo fans with a PCP&C "Silencer" sticker over the Panaflo sticker.
