Hi,,,well im upgrading the graphics card on my kids dell to a BFG GeForce 7600GS oc 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card
and was wondering if this psu would work for it "Ultra V Series 500W Power Supply" Just ordered one from frys :)
Dim 4600
socket 478
p4 2.8ghz
80gb HDD ide
1x cd-rw
1x 1gb ddr ram
1x floppy
1x fan controller
3x 80mm fans
1x 120mm fan
Your dell may be propriatory.
the dell PSU was probably fine for that video card it's not a big power consumer
but to answer your question yes the Ultra V 500 will do just fine

IF NEEDED http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/std/sku=dellconverter.html
My attitude would have me cutting/splicing and moving the pins in the ATX shell.
Just thought I'd link this adapter. :)

Thanks for the quick replies......
the dell psu is standard atx,,,,,according to dell tech support.
And I wouldnt be swapping it but the specs on newegg said the 7600gs needed..at least 350w , w/ at least +12v@20a
Hmm,
Pentium 4 Dell Models that do not require a power supply adapter:
Dell Dimension 4300, 4400, 4700, 8200, 8300, OptiPlex GX 400
4600 is not on the list. Thus, I think it's propriatory.
