@Paul (http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTY0OSwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==).
This is simply one of the best 850W units we have seen bar none.
Thanks Paul, a very good new CWT platform with outstanding results.

Wow, looks like CWT has done a complete 180 on ripple. Looks like for less than $200, this is now the PSU to get at 850W....hopefully it will force down the prices of the Revolution and Seasonic M12D.

Load regulation numbers are Zippy like. With a sub $200 price, this unit blows every 850W unit out of the water. The interesting question would be, are we going to see copycats pop us as with the PSH platform, or is this a Corsair only deal?
If the DSR is CWTs showcase platform, where does this DSG fit in?

As far as newegg goes, I was right about the pricing :p
Well this is the HX series...with a 7 year warranty. HX620 is around $150...same price as the TX850.
The HX line is not the frugal line, so I am thinking along the lines of $170-$180 for the HX750 and $190-$200 if there is an HX850.

Pretty good results. At 230V the efficiency will probably kick more butt.

Spectre I don't like this photo. :<

Back to the unit, a very powerful +12V rail and awesome clean output. A worthy rival for Signature, M12D and Revolution has arrived.

I didn't write that portion.

NOOOOOO!!!!
just when i was going to buy the M12D 850W unit this shows up for cheaper :D Now I have no idea what i can do lol. The only thing I am curious about is if Kyle got the unit off the shelf or was it sent because that unit scored well below the ripple that it is listed for. Still though, what a great price and a 7yr warranty to top it off. Do I really need to see if this site posts a review to know for sure if it is that good ?:D
Now back to the drawing board.

And I have linked you here to JonnyGURU repeatedly because we based our testing on his methodology.
I guess that you should know for sure now. :p

I guess DSR is CWT's mainstream 82+ platform to replace the aged PSH, and DSG is the 80Plus Silver platform for flagship products of year 2009.

The "combined output" for +12V rail should be 70A.

HX750 and HX850 launched today...I haven't heard anything about an HX1200

I think Kyle has been reading Oklahoma Wolf's reviews

i wonder when the rebates will pop up. if there is a $30 or $40 rebate for the new HX750/850 that would really sweeten them up.

Whoops....have to fix that at home. Late night writing reviews doesn't go so well sometimes.

It's good to see the DSG finally hit retail. I am truly impressed, I never though CWT could make something this good. Oh, and did you think to check and see if the heatsink screws were loose?

This is not really straight-up DSG, it's got some changes to it that we made to meet our specific needs. If you see a standard DSG and this next to each other you'll see the differences.

Anybody have some shots of the normal DSG?

No I don't have any yet. I've been searching for every kind of info about CWT's PUK/DSG/revised PUC but I was unlucky. I have no contact or contact's contact at CWT now.

Shucks. Maybe Redbeard can elaborate on what kind of tweaks were made.

The only sample I have is a 6 month-old OEM sample from CWT that I'm not allowed to show you guys, but it's not a huge drastic difference.
Our PSU engineer made some modifications to the design to meet our internal specs for Ripple/Noise, DC Voltage Regulation, and Efficiency. Also a few components were changed internally to meet our temperature and longevity specs. Since this unit carries a 7 year warranty we wanted to make sure it had some longevity to it.
Wasn't trying to start a huge bragging right thing - but it is a modified DSG design, and guys like you guys here would be able to pick that stuff up with a couple decent images I'm sure.

@Redbeard, is Corsair planning to have the HX750 and HX850 certified by 80PLUS ?

Yes I believe so. They will also be on the SLI and Crossfire lists. Just got the samples out late.
