View Full Version : Why is my 12v rail always 11.9v? (Corsair)

Got me the Corsair, and it doesn't look nothing like Jonny's. The 12v rail is always at 11.9v, while Jonny's dropped to 12.03v during test 6. wtf? i'm wondering if this is why i can't oc my opty past 2.6ghz...

Measure with multimeter, software readings are (usually) off.

IMAO yes please use a meter, software means about as much as a BIOS reading:p

What's wrong with 11.9V?

It's not unusual for two otherwise identical PSU's to have different output voltages. 11.9V is almost perfect.

But as stated, if you're concerned, you really need to check with a DMM. With software, you're checking a single lead going to the motherboard, traveling through several traces to an IC. I'd drop .4V too if I had to make that trip! :)
