Does anyone know anything about DSL Filters? Or do I even need one. Seems to me that my DSL service provider should be providing this in the system? I was recommended one.

The filter should be provided by your ISP but if not you can buy them at your local home depot or lows. The filter only needs to be connected between your phone and the wall. Do NOT put it on the same line that is going to your DSL modem.
Hopefully you have received a DSL modem from the provied. If it doesn't have a built in router then you will need a router in order to share the internet connection between 2 or more PCs.

The one you linked is apparently for inside the wall or in a wireing closet or whatever. You can buy them for external use where you plug it into the phone jack and it has one side that's filtered and one that isn't. Many DSL modems come with them. You only really need it if the phone sounds scratchy when you're talking on it.
