I can read all day and not know what i'm reading as well as some people here so i figured i'd ask for a recommendation based upon what i know/want in a PSU.
Budget: The less the better, but I'm aiming for $100 ($150MAX)
It will be powering:
E6600- Not bought yet
Non-OC'ed for now, although i'd like to be able to at a later date.
ATI RADEON X1600 PRO 512MB PCI Express Graphics Card
I plan to upgrade when DX10 Cards become affordable. No plans for SLI or Crossfire yet as i don't even have a specific MB picked yet. Would be a plus if the PSU could handle SLI/CF if i decided to, but shoudln't be a major factor as i doubt i will.
2 7200RPM IDE HD's
2 7200RPM SATA HD's - Not bought yet
DVD(+/-)RW
CD(+/-)RW/DVD-ROM - Not bought yet
Fan Controller w/up to 6 120mm fans -Not bought yet
2GB Ram - Not bought yet
Motherboard - Not bought yet
Floppy Drive
*Quiet* is very important.
No lights.
Modular is a plus but not required.
My goal with this computer would be to not know if it was on unless there's something on the monitor or playing on the speakers. I know it's a bit much with only limited funds, but it's something to work towards.
