Never heard of them.
We need to find out who the OEM is via a UL #, or at least a review where they take the top of. ;)

Used to be Topower, not sure if they still are.

If they still are it would most likely have the same internals as the Tagan 1100w right?

Nope... Topower's not supposed to use that design for anyone but Tagan. However, I have very little hope the Athena will be any good.

Wolf,

Wolf is correct....a number of AthenaPower's supplies are Topower.
They also use Sun Pro, Compucase(HEC), Emerson, and by the UL numbers some that are bogus.

I sell Athenatech cases, nice units for the price - not sure on the PSU quality though...

I like this unit: http://www.athenatech.us/A602.htm ~ $46.00 or so.. (Disty)

I'm sticking to my guns.
Athenatech is not Athenapower.
Athenatech PSU's are made by Topower.
Don't know about Athenapower, but I don't think they're Topower. They look nothing like Topowers.
I had this Athena Power 850W unit for my H8QC8:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104126
I ended up never connecting it to the H8QC8 because it felt so cheap and crappy, subjectively. And when I used it on a normal rig the system was very unstable at clocks that should have worked. I sent it back for restocking fee.
Fugger of XS also had one die.

Yeah that is one of the ones with the UL number that doesn't track.

Athena Power was formerly known as "A+GPB" or "GPB-JGE". Their quality probably varies, as their supplier probably varies per unit.
Their 550W AGPB-P4ATX55F is quite good actually. It was on Tyan's official qualified list for Xeon boards and was only $89 (now $79). I built several servers using them that are still running reliably today, using 15K SCSI etc. Nicely chrome plated and quiet (WAY quieter than Supermicro's SP645).
