This looks interesting.

So, I got along to assemble a test system with a choice of components: Kentsfield 2.66 GHz, ECS PN2 SLI2+ Extreme board with Nforce 680i chipset (the maxed-out reference design), two Spakle 8800GTX 768 MB cards (one the standard variety, the other is Peltier-cooled Calibre we tested recently) in SLI tie up, 2 GB of Corsair XMS6400CL3 tried and trusty twin DIMM set, running well at 1066 speed too, and Evercool's just arrived Nighthawk water cooler - the size of two DVD drives in a unique combo (either internal or external) config.

God knows where he found the Magnum? Any idea what the "real" rating would be on that unit? Heard that they overrate the output specs.

Good to know that one does not have to blindly rush forth and buy a Tera Watt unit. :)

It's a OEM Seventeam, that says it all:D

This article will be, of course, silently ignored by every gamer and overclocker out there, much like any evidence that you don't need a 700W power supply.

The internal Magnum units weren't over rated. Can't be. Why? Because SevenTeam never made this unit in anything under 500W. ;)

It's the EXTERNAL Magnum 600W that was actually just a SevenTeam 500W.

Actually SevenTeam's site showed an internal 350W Magnum at one time, it's long since gone the way of the Dodo but I often wondered if it was the Magnum before over-rating.

Thanks for the input guys. Any of you wish to repeat what the INQ did? :)

Gee, I would love to, but there are no G80's within my reach, yet:mad:
