This one was kind of rushed. Will be upgrading the main rig at the end of the week, and I need to get next week's Hiper review in the can before then.

Seasonic came to me a little while back and offered me a chance to look at two of their more recent offerings. One of those was the 850W M12D I looked at a few weeks ago, and the other is today's review specimen: a server oriented 1U form factor unit that weighs in at 400 watts. Are Seasonic's server units as good as their consumer level products? Today's the day I at last answer that question.

WOW. Now I want one, but I don't have a server to put it in.

That is, hands-down, EXCELLENT! If I had a 1U server, THAT is the PSU I'd use.

Wow... I can already think of some possible modding uses for this unit. Too bad it wasn't cheaper... but then again maybe it is a good thing they didn't skimp on quality.

Well... I know a guy with one of these he has no use for ;)

As I said--it looks like an awesome PSU. Mind taking a look at the Seasonic SS-300TFX? That one, to me, looks interesting.

Can't do it without a review sample. And to be honest, the page hits on the low watt units tends to make them not worth the effort. Unless they're junk units to begin with, and those pose hazards to the test equipment.
