I am going to replace all the 14 year old factory speakers in my Dodge Shadow ES, but right now I'm going to focus on the front door speakers. My budget is less than $30. The top 3 contenders are the following:

Chrysler Infinity (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160306417937&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:middle:us)
I have asked the seller if these include the crossovers, it's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like they do.

Pioneer TS-G1241R (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290286496421&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019)
these are refurbs, but there are new ones on ebay for similar prices.

Blaupunkt GTX542 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=380079306798&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=025)
these had very good ratings at Crutchfield

the rear speakers are located at the base of the C-pillar and are a pain in the ass to access. They are 5x7's. I'm considering 6x9's installed in kicker boxes or perhaps mounted in the hider panel that covers the cavity between the back seat and the rear window. Those will come later though.

The C/I's may or may not have a tweeter crossover - many of the newer ones depend on the system amps to do that. I'd pass on refurb speakers. I guess that leaves the Blaus.

the seller of the infinity's hasn't answered me back yet and my 10% coupon expires soon, so I'm going to go ahead and order the Blaupunkts.

thanks OW.
