what's indispensible to you?

I like foxit, its a really easy pdf reader that's not a patch as big or hungry as the dreaded adobe

Firefox - I can't browse without it
ImgBurn - love at first sight for burning whatever DVD's
KMPlayer -watching wharever movie without borking yout Windows with Mega-Ultra-Crap-codecs
Comodo firewall - if you don't have a router probably is the best software firewall.
IrfanView - do whatever you want with your pictures
7z - amazing (at least for multimedia content) archiver
Notepad++ - what Wordpad? What Notepad?
SpeedFan, RealTemp, RivaTuner, CPU-Z, LinX, prime95, GPU CapsViewer, Wireshark - system utilities.

have you tried googlechrome?

I think its just about as good as firefox for a browser, which is saying something.

When it will have AdBlock and NoScript and other gazillion of extensions, of course I'll try it. :D

Ccleaner: to cleam all crap and edit start-up programmes.
Revouninstaller : to uninstall the best possible way.
Yahoo messenger and Skype.

Windows media center for htpc use.

If the PDF file u use has a picture in it FOXIT won't display it properly, adobe does what Foxit doesnot hence i switched back to adobe ;)

Foxit has no trouble displaying pictures contained within PDF files.
