Well I finally recieved a copy of windows vista from work and actually is pretty cool..the problem that I have is that it takes too long to install on a used HD. I'm going to try and install it on a new HD and see what happens. It took like 3 1/2 hrs is just crazy.
PC specs
P4 3.2 ghz
1 GB Memory
256 mb AGP XFX 6800
250 GB HD
Sony DVD Recorder
600 Ultra X-finity 2 G PS
I let you guys know how it works out..Just want to shared my feelings regarding the installation.

I got the final release last week and have been toying with it since.
My install went quite quickly (installed Ultimate x86 version) and MS already had all the drivers setup for my computer when I first loaded into Vista. When I'm using Aero, it runs quite sluggish. Reminds me of mid to low-end Apples running MacOSX: Sure it's pretty and fun to play with, but I feel handicapped when windows and apps take MUCH longer to load.
On the bright side, Aero is really fun and if you disable the theme, it runs practically as fast as XP. I'm running on 2GB of RAM, and Vista was using roughly 611MB with Aero enabled, compared to under 360MB in XP.
My biggest complaint isn't with Vista directly, but with Nvidia's Vista drivers. They lack any options other than very basic color selection and resolutions. Still, those are beta drivers, and no one should be using Vista as their only OS.
Vista has been insanely stable though. Considering how often some apps have crashed on me, I'm surprised I haven't made the OS crash too.
I did hear that the x64 edition runs quite a bit faster, and when gaming, it runs better than x86 XP. I'll probably give x64 a test run this next weekend or so.
I would really recommend anyone trying out Vista, to put it on a different partition for dual boot. Too many people have complained about Vista ruining their old software because they put both OS's together.

I'm just going to stay away from Vista. Don't need the upgrade or the hassle.

Well After 2 packs of Marlboro lights and patience I decided to install Windows Vista Ultimate in my new HD, and it actually work find and only took a hr for te installation, the only problem is my Dell printer that for some reason Vista doesn't recognize it but I'm working on that. I also Purchased a new Dell laptop and for $10 I will have Windowds vista upgrade by the end of January. I keep in touch regarding my adventure with Vista. :P

how much RAM do you have and where is the system idling? i have 2GB and its idle RAM load is 27% with the beta build.... seems high to me, but i do love the look of aero, i cant seem to turn it off to see if the system load becomes any better.

because its exciting to use now... even OSX doesnt have that excitement to it... aero ROCKS. dont know about the name aero, and it would be cool if they had other themes too [but osx doesnt even have that].
