Somebody I know recently ordered a bunch of parts to put together a killer gaming rig. He ordered the eVGA 680i mobo, two 8800gtx cards, a few HDs, and a x6800. I said I thought he should have put more money into the PSU given the cost of the other components in the system. I understand that unlike Hiper's lower-end models, the 730w PSU is built by Andyson and is much higher quality. However, does it have the brute power required to run an x6800 and dual 8800gtx stable? My thoughts were that he should have gone with an 850w Silverstone Zeus, for example...

It has the brute power... and even though it has quad 12V rails, each PCI-e is on it's own rail.

But does it have the four PCI-e connectors two 8800GTX cards will need? Last I checked, no.

And does it still use the 1-to-2 wiring that the old Hipers used? Last I checked, yes.

So this PSU has potential, but once again it falls short on execution. Thanks Hiper! :(
