I've aquired the parts for a new(old) server which will consist of:

Dual Xeon 2.6ghz LV(Low Voltage)
2 gig ECC
Tyan i7500 with onboard video, nic, etc.
5 300 gig Hard Drives in RAID5 on a RocketRAID 8 port SATA controller.
1 200gig IDE HDD boot drive

I've been buying all the stuff on the cheap, and I'm looking for a PSU that will fit the bill. Requirements are powering up the system, and not exploding at any point during its operation. Oh, and an EPS connector (8 pin) would be nice.

Expansion is limited to getting another 3 HDD's, and thats about it.

I'm Canadian and I'd like to order from directcanada.com, since I can get free shipping on my order with some other stuff I'm getting but this isn't a requirement.

Anyhow, I was looking at this unit (http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=15240AC5438&vpn=HG2-6460P&manufacture=ZIPPY%20TECHNOLOGY), which is at the upper end of what I'd like to spend, but I can flex a little bit.

Thanks for your time.

That's a good unit. I can't recommend against it.

When I get home, I might shop around more, but off the top of my head I will tell you that an Enhance/Silverstone 400W/500W would suit you as well.

The HP2 is a better unit than the HG2. I have a HG2-6400P and a HP2-6460P.
Old grumpy Zepper over at AnandTech has a good used HP2-6400P for sale for $50+$8.50 shipping. He is an honest trader, living in up-State NY. If your interested PM me for the link. I think it has thermal fan control.

The Enhance ENP-5150G can be had cheap and has 12V1&2@18A, 3.3V@30A and 5V@30A. This would make a good server PSU. The ENP-5150GH has less 3.3&5V wattaqe but has higher efficency than the G model.
I hope Enhance is avalible in Canada. http://www.enhanceusa.com/

Not easily unless one looks for the Silverstone models.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't find Enhance products at any of the normal stores I shop at, but Silverstone is easily available. The 500w Element is $93, and the 360w Strider is $45. The 400w units are all OOS.

I ordered the Silverstone 500w Element today, should be here in a week or so. Thanks again for the suggestions.
