I reside in Finland and the stores here have a fairly limited variation in PSU's, but I was able to find some PSU's that have been mentioned around these boards a fair amount, and was hoping to get a perspective on which would best suit my upcomming setup..

A quick run down of what I plan to get:
Core 2 Duo E6400 overclocked to 3ghz
Geforce 8800GTX
2GB Ramm
Running 2 250gb Harddrives

And here are my PSU options along with pricing in US$:
SilverStone ST56ZF - 130$
Antec Trio 650w - 147$
ThermalTake ToughPower 750w - 150$
Seasonic S12 600w - 200$

I have my eye on the ST56ZF as it seems to be talked about alot, but will 560w be enough to keep my system going?

Which PSU's be able to run my system smoothly? I'm also curious to hear what anyone has to say on which PSU provides the most bang for the buck.

Thanks!

The clear choice, to me, in your list, is the ToughPower 750W.

I'd go with Silverstone ST56ZF.

At that price, the Tough 750.

Thanks for the responses!

I guess it's between T56ZF and TT 750, but one thing that has me pretty confused is why the T56ZF belongs to tier1 in the Recommended PSUs while ThermalTake's 750w is in the bottom at tier3? Could someone explain?

Well, first... It's in Tier 3 out of the top 3. It's not like Tier 3 is the "bottom tier" as in "the worst."

In my list, I'd use any of the PSU's in those three tiers. If the tiers were to expand to include all brands of PSU's (useless, IMHO) there'd probably be about a dozen levels of quality.

I picked the Thermaltake because it is in one of those tiers and because it puts out the most power for the money.

The Silverstone is a better build quality, but not as much power. If you think the ST56ZF is enough power for your build and you're not worried about any kind of future-proofing (getting a second graphics card or more hard drives,) the the ST56ZF is a good choice.

I'm almost hesitant to suggest a 560W PSU because of the 8800GTX and because I'm thinking you might be considering a 680i chipset based board, right? 680i being found to use more power than any other chipset on the market. ;)

Do they have ANY other choices in Finland?

I find it hard to believe you only have those four choices.

Thanks again for the explanation.
Ofcourse theres more choices, but I was comparing the prices to american retailers, and I felt these were the least over-priced models.

I'll list a couple more..

Seasonic M12 700W = $295
Silverstone Zeus 750W = $250
Enermax Liberty 620W = $235
Cooler Master eXtreme Power 600W = $125
Hiper Type-M HPU-4M730 730w = $200

I will probaly settle for the ThermalTake, thanks for the help!

See, if you were willing to spend a little more, I'd be all over that Hiper Type-M or Zeus 750W.
