I overdid my first build no doubt, running solid but not as balanced as it should have been . I got caught up in the Extreme Tech website and for a new builder it was just too hard to deny .. I had the coolermaster praetorian case (I almost threw it out !!) but dell support was giving me serious chestpains that day ..

Asus p5b deluxe (no problems with 2nd to late bios )
Coolermaster praetorian 732 black (I had the case )
Corsair HX Series CMPSU-520HX 520W Power Supply (is it enough ? )
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (the E6600 would have been fine ) Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB hd (funny smell , it is running hot )
MSI Radeon PCI Express x16 graphics (way more then I need )
Plextor PX-760A Dual Layer DVD±RW Writer
I/O module up top removed and vented with supplied black mesh
Panaflo fans all around

What kind of "MSI ATI PCI-E 16x" are you running?

MSI Radeon X800-XL 256MB , no problems with it ..

the newegg gift certificate still has 1220.00 on it so I will just wait and see how everything works out ..

The 7200.10 drives are pretty solid but I have heard the 750gb runs hot. Get a 320 and see if you like it.

Where in Rochester are you? RIT?

The 750 gb barracuda was replaced with a 320 gb , same 10 series .. 16 mb cache . no more frying eggs .. thank you Slartibartfast , not half as warm to the touch ..

With the new drive I got a thermaltake fan controller / temp monitor (Hardcano) any ideas with placement of temp monitors and better fans would be much appreciated ..
