PC Power and COoling was big on the multi12v rail bandwagon....until they missallocated their 12v rails and got burnt. So now their marketing indicates that only a single 12v rail unit is correct....which is not true obviously...if you do multi12v rails correcttly they are fine. PC Power and Cooling just didn't.

yeah, but the link i listed says pc power and has 3 12v rails? so is it a old style ps from them?

Riiiiiiight..... And Spectre said that PCP&C used to do multi-12V rails until they got caught screwing around with rail allocation. Then they switched over to single +12V rail and wrote a bunch of FUD explaining why that was a good idea.
In other words: the unit listed at Egg is old. Before they went to single +12V rail.

I thought it was old because its open box but i still would think pc power would replace newegg with a newer model since it goes against they're marketing strategy. thanks for the conformation.

If it's non-defective merchandise, PC Power doesn't have to replace anything.
