Hi everyone.
I'm reading thread's on this forum but i cant chose a PSU for my needs.
I have a very cheap PSU and i can't imagine how is holding togheter it came with my case that costs about 20$ (a big sticker on the side of the PSU is showing 400W).
I need a Upgrade for sure.
My system specifications :
AMD Barton 2500+ (BIG Thermaltake COOLER,conected directly to the PSU)
1GB DDR 2x512 GEIL
NFORCE 2 ULTRA MOBO
Geforce 6600 GT AGP8x
320 GB HDD SATA
DVD RW
Creative AUDIGY
SKYSTAR 2 (SAT TV TUNER)
ATA HDD RACK i use 80GB HDD
So now you see "i can't imagine how is holding togheter"
The biggest problem is that i have only 60$ to spend on a PSU.
is there a solution for me.
i accept every sugestion. :(
(sorry for my english)

I would go with an Enhance 500w:)
Google around for the best price,
As I'm not sure where your from:)
As long as your not planning on upgradeing your rig,
12v amps should not really be a concern with your current specs.
+5v is what your mainly going to be pulling:)

Does the motherboard have a 4 pin ATX 12v connector?

yes the MOBO has a 4 pin ATX 12v connector
and that 6600 GT has a separate conector
im not a OC.
i wil not upgrade my system, soo this PSU is final for this system.

what online shops do you use to buy from? So we can take a look at what may be the best from their selection because you don't seem to be from america.
The Xclio 450 or 500 should be perfect for your system
the FSP 400w is another good choice their all under $50

Good point Praxis
Where do you shop ?

Anything half decent over 400W will power that system... I'm rather partial to the Silverstone/Enhance units myself.

i'm from Romania (Europe so i use 220V)
i like the SILVERSTONE SST-ST405 :o its simple, i dont like complicated
should i go for it (it's 50$ at newegg ihope that i can find it for 60$ in my country) ?
At my shops i have ANTEC, SIRTEC, TAGAN, THERMALTAKE, AKASA, SEASONIC, NEXUS, SILVERSTONE, moust of my shops dont have english ...

If you can find an equivalent Akasa model for cheaper, it's the same OEM as the Silverstone unit. Seasonic is also an excellent option. Nexus is OEM Fortron.

thanks for everyone fast reply
soo you al say i should not go higher than 400W
if it's like that, every thing clear, i will go for a SILVER/AKASA 400W
what is PFC is this helping me or not ?

In Europe, PFC is required to be on a new PSU - it reduces the load apparent to the power company, and you are likely being billed based on it. Passive PFC helps with this, but active PFC helps more.

Nope, we are billed in kWh not kWARh, so (A/P)PFC is almost useless for a home user.
2flash I suggest to take a look at Fortron Bluestorm II 400 (http://www.darer.ro/ro/details-325-fortron-bluestorm-ii-400w.html). Basically it's an Fortron GreenPower with fan/fan-controller changed and it's cheaper than Akasa 80+ 400 (http://www.pc-coolers.ro/produs.php?id=489) or Silverstone Strider ST40F (http://www.extreme-computers.ro/produs.php?cod_produs=1141309285709) or Silverstone Element ST40EF (http://www.extreme-computers.ro/produs.php?cod_produs=1139316308641).
LE: Unfortunately with 60 bucks (165 RON) you have few options: Sirtec HPC-430-P12S (http://www.itdirect.ro/produs.php?55:707), Antec BasiqPower BP-350P (http://www.itdirect.ro/produs.php?68:569), Fortron Green PS 350 (FSP350-60GLN) (http://www.itdirect.ro/produs.php?57:712)
Or something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817163030
I think you have the wrong one. the one you linked has 14a on +12v  the other silverstone has dual rails.

The ST40F is $69.99, he wants something under $60,
which is why I linked the ST405 at $50, plus 12v amps won't be a concern on
his setup as I've already said before,
he's not upgradeing:)
