lol I hope I'm not getting annoying askin yall for help. And I appreciate the help thus far but I am still torn between what PSU to get. For anyone willing to help, I am going to give as much detail as possible to help you help me.

I can spend like 175 tops with shipping. I'm looking for somethin that can SLI at least 88800GTs. I dont plan to own a Ultra. Following are the other components I'll be running with:

E8400 Intel Proc at stock (3.0GHZ)
2 GB (will add more) PC6400 800mhz DDR2 RAM
300 SATA 3.0 HDD
1 DVD+-R drive
1 CD-R/W drive
Gigabyte DS3L mobo
XFX 8800GT 512

Now I would like to use the PSU for a long time. And I would like for it to be modular. Following are the PSUs I am torn between:

Thermaltake Toughpower Cable Management 700W
Ultra X-Pro 750W
Silverstone DA/OP 750W

Or any other efficent PSU.

But another concern. Do I even need 700W? Could I power a good build for a few years to come off of 600/650W. Ugh, late and tired. Well I appreciate the help. Yall take care.

Yeah Corsair HX620 should suffice. There are several PSUs built on the same basic Seasonic platform that are even SLi certified for dual 8800GTs...and nVidia is pretty conservative with their SLi certifications for the various cards.

No, you dont need 700W+ with your current configuration
You will be fine with Corsair HX520 even if you run 8800GT SLI, The PSU will give you 40A on +12V.

Corsair has a "psu-finder", it will give you suggestions on which psu's are suitable for your rig.

The actual power consumptions for 8800GT SLI with both cards and CPU OC-ed is around 400W DC.
A 500W power supply with 35A on the +12V rail should be enough to power it, but it doesn't leave too much headroom.
A 600W PSU should be just fine.

As long as its not a dual rail unit on +12V.
If it's a dual rail; then you must have the CPU on one rail and both cards on the other rail, or the CPU and one card on one rail and the other card on the other rail.

The best option in a case where the PSU leaves only 35A on +12V, is to look for a unit which is single rail on +12V.

EDIT
If its a dual rail on +12V and you have SLI, I would suggest 2*25A on the +12V in that case.

I've decided to go with the Corsair 620HX due to its good review on here as well as it being modular. If anyone has personal experience both good and bad plz feel free to share. Ty all for the help, I appreciate it. :) Take care.

Those are few and far between. A 4* 18A +12V PSU would suffice and are easier to find.

Both units are modular and they are more or less the same unit, the difference is you have 10A more on +12V to play with on HX620.

The reviews of them don't differ.

I dont know your market there so well, but here in Sweden the only bad thing is; they are too good for the competitors at that price.:D

I dont have any personal experience of the units, just through friends.

I am sitting with a 4 year old Shuttle, its a bit loud, but it delivers.
Good luck:beer:
