Hey guys
While looking for a new power supply i stumbled over this forum, and it seems that you guys really know your PSU's.
My problem is that buying PSU's is very confusing, and every time I find something interesting it is not available in Denmark. :wall:
Like the seasonic S12 energy+ which according to SPCR is very silent, even at high loads.
So I am looking at Zalman ZM460B-APS, Enermax Liberty ELT400AWT the ordinary S12 is also available in that price range. I am open to suggestions in that price area.
I really like my other Zalman products, and it does look like it is nice to work with.
I am being told that the Enermax is the stuff, but I do not like the modular design, the plugs on the unit looks far to weak.
But since my NorthQ (Danish brand, makes fair low-noise PSU's, but they have problems with the component quality) is dying, My system might reboot if I start a game, or something like that, and that is getting pretty annoying.
I hope you can help me make a choice, since the other places I tried have not been able to help me make a choice.

My system atm consists of:
e6300 slightly overclocked
Asrock 775dual-vsta
512 mb ddr ram (getting 2gb as soon as prices fall again)
Gforce 6600gt AGP
2-3 harddisks
2 optical drives.

Not that a 400watt+ PSU is needed at the moment, but I will soon upgrade again (doing it step by step ;) ) Heading for DX10 gfx, and faster CPU/OC
Btw. silence is gold... :)

Of your three possibilities, I'm going to say stick with the Seasonic S12.

It's the quieter and more efficient of the three, and (IMHO) the build quality is spot on.

So you are suggesting Seasonic S12-430.
Kinda didn't notice it on SPCR's test of the S12 energy+, sound levels seems quite nice.

Yep.

The Zalman is made by FSP and FSP is mediocre, in my opinion.

Enermax makes a nice unit, but I'm hearing about problems with reliability and, at the very least, annoying buzzing noises.

Seasonic seems to be the.. least problematic? ;)

If you're looking to save a little money in the 400~500W range of PSUs,
look at the Silverstone Elements or Enhance ENP-5140GH/ENP-5150GH.
Enhance distributes from The Netherlands. The Elements are built by Enhance.

The Seasonic is a better unit but not by a bunch, it will be a quieter unit.

Nice, I'll grab one of those then, thanks for the quick response.

Very nice site you got here, found it while looking at XS.org, and everybody was talking about jonnyguru and I was like ???, then found the link to this site.

I will look in to it tomorrow, but at first glance it doesn't seem to be available in Denmark. (better go to bed, its midnight here, and gotta go to work in 6 hours  )

[Edit] Found it, but it cost the same as the three others.

Just ordered the S12, so looking forward to receiving it tomorrow. And being able to play bf2 again...
Thanks once again.
