Hello

I’m getting ready to build a new Intel System for mostly MS Office use and 24/7 Bonic with the following:

E6400 CPU (Overclocked to 3.2GHz on air)
Low cost P965 MB (Biostar TForce965PT or Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 or possibility an ASUS P5B-E)
7300GT video card
1GB DDR2-800 ram
1 or 2 approx 160 GB hard drives
1 CD/DVD drive
2x120mm fans

BUT, I can’t decide on a power supply :wall: . My budget is around $80 and I don’t think I need to spend more then $100 for such a modest system.

Anyway, here is what I’m looking at:

ENERMAX Noisetaker II EG495P-VE ATX12V 485W Power Supply $80
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817194009

ENERMAX Noisetaker II EG425P-VE SFMA 2.2 ATX12V 420W Power Supply $75
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817194012

ENERMAX Liberty ELT400AWT ATX12V 400W Power Supply $75
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817194002

SILVERSTONE ST50EF-Plus ATX 12V 2.2 500W Power Supply $80
http://deadeyedata.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_33&products_id=93

Please comment or make a suggestion (maybe a good 380 watt would do http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817103455 ).

Silverstone Element Plus without doubts, but maybe you should take a look at Seasonic S-12 380 (http://deadeyedata.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_33&products_id=113) (plenty of power for your setup).

Yep, seems about right to me. The 500W Element would permit future up-grades, like used VGA cards as they become inexpensive items (my world ;) )

How about Enhance ENP-5140GH 400W $ 58

http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5140GH

Never used Enhance before or ordered for ewiz.com!

(I've used older Antec TP 430x2, TP380, FS 350W Aurora (had to replace 120mm fan that froze), 10 year old 300W In-Win all still running 24/7 - I've had good luck so far)..........

Lost and

It's on par with S-12 380/430 at efficiency and build quality, but I don't know nothing about noise.
Oh, wait I remember a review (http://www.silentpcreview.com/article305-page1.html) on his little brother...

Enhance builds the Element and Strider series for Silverstone.
JonnyGURU did a review of the ENP-5140GH *thumbs up*
Since eWiz sells PSUs as bulk items, they come with a one year warrenty.
The Silverstone Element will come with a three year warrenty, sleeved cabling and 6 instead of 4x4 pin Molex connectors.
I recently up-graded a rig here to this unit from eWiz. It's a good unit.
eWiz can be a PITA for RMA, if needed.
