I'm posting this seperate from my other thread in the hopes that its noticed and moved quickly :)
I have for sale a Zippy 850 watt psu, single 12v rail at 60a. This is a beast of a psu. It has been used moderately, ~8 hours a day on average, since May, and is in great shape. Honestly most of that time was either idle or light load. Comes with a 24 pin main connector, two eight pin EPS connectors, a 4 pin, two PCI-e, two six pin Xeon aux connectors, and a plethora of sata and molex connectors. The cables are very long: no problems reaching the very top of my TJ07.
Linkage: http://store.myaopen.com/psl6850p.html
I am looking to get $225 for this, including shipping. It is in great condition, and it will cost quite a bit to ship (when I purchased it, fedex listed it as weighing 11 lbs). It's also larger than a typical atx psu - it's 22cm deep.
If interested, please contact me via PM. My heatware is under Slartibartfast, and plenty more info is in my other thread:

back to the top for this thread.
Is the fan in this one one of the (loud) server-grade fans or the new "home" Zippy designs?

It is one of the Server grade ones but it takes a hell of a load for the second fan to kick in....and it is possible ot fan mod it. Jonny put one through the wringer here: http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88&highlight=zippy
It is one hell of a unit with native dual 8 pin EPS and that is a good deal that Slarti has it at.

I've never heard the second fan kick in on my H8DCE build, even while stress-testing. I'm not comfortable doing the fan mod: I haven't soldered anything in years (think 8 [hoping to change that in grad school though]).
Anyways uOpt, seeing as how you're local, if you're interested and can pick it up I'll knock $25 off what I'm asking, so call it $225. ~$100 less that what it goes for new ;)

Now only...
$200 SHIPPED
I really need to move this thing so I'm willing to take only $200 shipped for this PSU. I'm not offering it for this price on any other forum. I know you guys don't want to see such a great PSU get put up on EBay.
I'll even throw in a FREE post-it note with an authentic hand-drawn smiley face!
THIS HAS TO GO!

What I like about the Zippy is the nice fat +5v@45a rail;)
I will be needing a "real" server PSU after the next drive install;)
It's already begining to crossload:o
Hooked a DMM to it the other day to check it out.
I'm getting +5v@4.65v and +12v@12.67 at boot up time,
and +5v@4.82v and +12v@12.53, 20 mins idle.
I know it's within spec, but I've never had readings like that before I installed the last two drives.
This next one just might send it over the edge:p
I can't even stagger the boot becouse only two of my drives are SATA, and
old ones at that.
I'm going to try and throw more fans on it to even things up a bit;)

You shouldn't be getting a Truepower to crossload - it's an independant design. Due to the age of the unit, I'd really have to suspect the caps. Or profound overloading ;)

You would be wholly welcome to it, unless CAD happens to claim it ahead of time ;)
I personally would much rather it go to one of you guys than to some random joe schmoe on ebay :)
