Ok... I got a 1kW transformer for running 220V on 110V, but it had an EU plug on it.
I decapitated that, expecting to find the typical white for neutral, black or brown for hot and green for ground.
Instead, I have blue, brown and yellow/green.
Uggh!
What's the conversion, guys? I've got 220V stuff I need to power before I can finish up the next review.
Thanks!

According to the old man it should be:
hot is brown
neutral is blue
safety ground is green/yellow
That is as long is it came after the harmonized standards adopted by the EU. Before that it varied from country to country.
I'll see if I can find a link. Too.
Edit: Found it referenced a couple places on the web also including here:
http://www.esb.ie/esbnetworks/downloads/safe_use_of_electricity.pdf
And at ye olde epanorama http://www.epanorama.net/ I probably should have looked here first...oh well.
Hope this helps.

While good to hear...not nearly as exciting as the snap, crackle, pop! :D

Yep, that is right:
Brown = positive,
Blue = neutral
Yellow/green = earth.
It used to be:
Red = positive
Black = neutral
green = earth.
For anyone who has cables with the old style colouring.

Yes this is the current way here in the UK.
