Ah... so it looks like the "ABS branded" Tagans have made their way outside of Newegg (an ABS company.)

I have the largest of the model line here. It is for a Topower pretty good, that may be Tagan's doing though ;)
Still.....well the review shall tell!

Entirely possible... I've heard rumors that Tagan has people there that know a thing or two about the engineering side of things.

From what I hear, these aren't anywhere near the Topower "cookie cutter" units that many manufacturers (Mushkin, NZXT, etc) get. Tagan has ALOT of influence in the designing of all of their units and they are all unique to Tagan. That means you will never see another brand slapped on the internals of a current Topower-built Tagan PSU.

Well they aren't supposed to anyway. I have heard of some shenanigans involving Topower/Tagan units in the past.

True. Topower themselves are really cagey when it comes to discussing that too.....

From the experience of Tagan users voiced here in my country local IT forum, the performance of their newer platform that's using dual transformer is pretty good, atleast from the voltage regulation standpoint (though indeed many use overspecced PSU for their rig, out of their lack of know how in the PSU world).
OTOH, their older platform that uses similar platform used by OCZ PowerStream got tangled with many problems here, especially when they have to power heavier load from the newly upgraded rig, and the ambient temp is not favorable. The cooling is simply inadequate in the local hot & humid climate all year round.

After futher review or lack there of, i decided to go with another brand.
my stoneyman senses were tingling about that tagan one. :D
I went with the Ultra X3 1000w for $227.00 at live wired computers.
cheapest price i've seen on the internet for the X3
thanks for the input everyone. :)

Looked good until the end, I wonder how the lower power PS will hold up? I'm really looking for something in the 700to 800 watt range that's quiet and very good quality, I wish the 750 silencer from PC Power & Cooling had a single 120mm fan, now moving to a 5 year warrenty on the Silencer series is another bonus. :)
