i have learned to trust nothing from the inq ;)
Still, that is most definetly accurate becasue of the amount of confirmations I've seen of the same product. I like the fact that both ati and nvidia are making attempts at improving the heatsinks, definetly something that needs to be addressed with dx10, but for the price, they should just rebadge a systrin kuformula vf1 or something.
The power plug prolly comes out of the top b/c the card's too damn long! You couldn't fit the cable in between the northbridge maybe...

Those pics are real.

All of the 8800GTX's have the two power connectors on the top. Not sure why. Not like anyone has a PSU with 90 degree PCI-e connectors on them. :(

Maybe it creates an inteference issue with hard drives in a somehwat standard ATX case design...

w/e, i'm sure the're not going to sue me for adding an s to the name, it is nevertheless the best gpu cooler for the money, I'd be interested to see how dx10 cards' cooler stack up against the current crop of aftermarket coolers, including the gargantuan thermalright hr-03!:D

I love Gainward cards....too bad they don't sell them in the states anymore.

The depth of the card already will hit alot of HDD cages in standard ATX cases. Putting the PCI-e plugs at the end of the card would ensure that it will not fit into ANY standard ATX cases unless it has a removable HDD cage, which would then cause people to use 5.25 to 3.5 conversion kits to hold their hard drives. So basically, their consumers would be limited to those with eATX or full tower cases......which would serverely restrict 8800GTX sales = less profit ;)

Putting them on the side gives the greatest chance of that beast of a card to actually fit in ATX cases for the masses.....but just barely fit.
