Info overload...can't make a decision! :wall:

Anyway, building a new sytem with:

Cooler Master COSMOS case - SO I NEED a down facing 120-135mm fan.
IP35 Pro
Q6600 (will be moderatly oc'ing)
2gb DDR2800
2-3 HD's
1 optical drive
1 mid-range video card
4 - 120mm case fans

I want QUALITY. I realize the 520HX would be fine, but to be honest, I don't care for their cables. So I was thinking of getting the OP650 or DA650.

Are they really identical other than the modular cables?

Any suggestions for a better value is welcome. :D

what kind of cables do you like? Ultra's flex force are very nice.

I don't think the fan location really matters. that case looks like it's designed in such a way that you can mount the PSU with the fan facing up into the case, or down into the little space underneath it which is vented to the outside of the case.

I don't think he likes the "FlexForce" type cables. That's what the HX520W has.

The OP650 and DA650 are good units.

I haven't had a lot of exposure but so fax I prefer standard wire that has been sleeved. It was more flexible & easier to route than the cables the HX series uses...for me anyway.

Yes up or down is fine, but I was wanting to avoid the opposing 80m fans, front & rear.

The OP650 and DA650 are good units.

Are they identical units except for the cabling? Seems like a read a review that said their performance is actually a little different, with the edge going to the OP version.

OP650 and DA650 are the same unit. The DA650 is simply the modular version. My feeling is that the OP version might cool it self better as there is a vent by a sizeable inductor that gets partially obscured by the internal cables in the DA version of this series. Size of the secondary heatsink in both is cut down by the inductor also. Probably nothing to worry about, though.
