I bought a Silver Stone 1000Watt OP last January. It came with two 6 pin PCI-E cables and 2 8 pin cables labeled “PCI-Express”.

This afternoon I go to put a new build together using this PSU and a new ATI 2900XT 1GB video card and the eight pin PCI-E cables won’t fit.

Any ideas, was their a revision of the eight pin PCI-E cable design since January?
If so what can I do about this?

You have an old revision of the OP1000 with the incorrect 8-pin connector.

Call SilverStone. At the very least, they can provide 8-to-8 adapters like the ones my review sample came with.

Thanks for the response.

As you can imagine there were a lot of profanities used tonight when I found out it wouldn’t fit.

It would be nice if they got this B.S. straightened out, I mean really WTF!

There's a rev # on the box and PSU if you have rev 2, which is the one with the correct 8-pin connector. :(
