I'm in the process of doing a build for a family member and I have been seriously looking at this power supply from a company called Nmedia:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18928&vpn=MP-500&manufacture=NMedia%20System&promoid=1046

The problem is that I have heard some extremely glowing reviews of this power supply and others that are a bit mixed. All of the specs can be found here:
http://www.nmediapc.com/mp400_500.htm

And to make matters even better Nmedia is one of the few manufacturers that actually shows pictures of the INSIDE of the power supply:

Doesn anyone know anything about Nmedia PSUs? If not, by looking at the pictures can you tell the quality of the components used?

For the price it looks like a great value.

Oklahoma Wolf and Super Nade said (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=482681) a few words about them. ;)

Sadly, that thread just raised more questions in my mind. As we all know many manufacturers (like Shenzen Chi Yuan in this case) can moke both great and horrible PSUs.

Take FSP group for example. Some of their PSUs seem to get horrible reviews but some people swear by their 400W Fortron model.

Hmm, here we have mostly Bluestorm, GreenPower and Epsilon and I know a lot of people happy with them.
Now we have Bluestorm II (a GreenPower with a new fan/fan controller) but it's only for a week on market and I don't know nothing about them.

Another problem for me is that everyone on a forum I post on recommends this FSP over the Nmedia: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=17076&vpn=ATX-400-PN-B&manufacture=Fortron%20Source

After reading some posts here I'm leery of going with the FSP model. I really want to know more about this Nmedia.

True, but with the price and availability of PSUs up here in Canada there is very little else in this price range. Which one would YOU recommend Jonny and why??

NONE of the 500W in that price range.

Quality wise, you'd be better off with a 400W in the same price (I see an Antec, FSP, Enermax...).

But if you feel you "need" a 500W, you should up the budget.

So, if you were in this position, you would go with the FSP supply I linked?
