Yeah so, I'm looking for a new power supply, and the Toughpower series caught my attention. The e-tailer I want to use has two different versions of the modular 1.2KW version available; W0133 and W0133RE. What are the differences? The RE costs a *tad* more, around $5. The RE is also in stock, while the non-RE is not. What are the differences? Is the RE a newer version or something?

Maybe RE means Retail Edition ? Not sure just guessing.

Well, it's a Norwegian e-tailer, so I doubt you'll get much out of it... But here they are:

Ah.. Well, all the "RE" means is that it comes with a European power cord. Mine is an "RU" and that's a US power cord.
There shouldn't be one without any kind of lettering after the part number at all.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for that. I guess I can safely get the 1.2KW RE then.

I have this power supply and its awesome! I'll most likely never have to buy another power supply unless it goes out or I need one for another computer. Runs quiet and always plenty of power. Can you imagine I purchased it new and paid less that $100 for it including tax? The store "Micro Center in Columbus, Ohio" made a mistake in ordering it for me so they gave me this one at the same price they quoted the wrong one for. I should have bought 3 of them when they made this mistake, but they were honest enough to give me one at less than $100, I should be honest enough not to shaft them for more. Cheers everyone!

Just thought it would be fun to comment on such a great power supply.
