Hey guys,
Is *inverter buzzing* something that comes with the territory? or is it a sign of undesireable things to come?
Thanks,

It's just a sign of inconsistant quality control.
But nothing is going to happen outside of the deterioration of your sanity.

What kind of inverter is it?
Is it for 12VDC to 120VAC conversion?

I'm thinking he's talking about winding buzz coming off of a transformer in a PSU.

Yeah it should be the transformer buzzing. Unless it sounds as loud as flourescent lights....

Thanks everyone,
I emailed Thermaltake today about the issue, and the tech wrote, I quote That's the inverter buzz, it is a normal behavior
Two minutes later I receive another email, informing me that If it's audible over conversation, I should RMA it
Not to be a dick, but I just spent over $170.00 on this psu (my Antec true power 550 never had this issue for the 4 years I ran it prior to the TT model) so I don't personally care for the buzzing it makes everytime I load a webpage or update servers on any games. It's interesting, as the servers load, the buzzing staggers with it, same as loading web pages( that WILL drive one mad :wall:
Grin and bare it? or is this a legit reason to RMA?
Your thoughts appreciated,
Thank you

I would RMA it in a heart beat.
The new TT ToughPowers reviewed well and there was NO comment on buzzing.

Never heard that terminology used before in a PC power supply.
It shouldn't buzz, that's for sure.
Audible over conversation? LOL now that's a comparison!

Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate it your help.
I'll be RMA'ing.......let you al know how that process goes. They have a procedure where one can get an incoming psu before you have to send the RMA back.
Tt Tech: I messaged you at another forum where you participate the other day on this issue, but no response and you had been on that forum a few times today according to your history

I think I have the same thing going on with my Fortron AX500-A Blue Storm that I am RMAing. I didn't notice it until some of the components of my system were quieter, so I don't know if it had been like that since I got it or if it's gotten worse as time has gone by. It's not loud by any means, but now that I notice it I need it to be replaced.

It wasn't...........I'll just dismiss it and give you the benefit of the doubt.
RMA's complete, so it's all good.
