CPU power supply connector versus a 4 pin?
Both my MSI and Asus Pentium 4 boards have 8 pin connectors but would I be safe buying a PSU that had only a 4 pin connector?
Thanks
This is the one in question:

I believe it's for entry level server motherboards that have that 8 pin EPS connector. Some consumer motherboards have that connector too.

No.
Newer boards (975 and 680i) boards have 8-pin because the CPU needs more amperage.
Used to be just 2P and up boards.
If you don't have 8-pins, this happens:

Since that PSU is modular is it possible to obtain an 8 pin lead that would make it work or is this eps stuff built into a power supply and one that isn't eps or doesn't have an 8 pin lead cannot be made to function as one that does have?

The Hiper?
Read the manual. They recommend against adapting the 4-pin to 8-pins.
That's because Hiper screwed up and used only one +12V lead at the modular interface.
That PSU is good for older systems, but nothing that needs an 8-pin or will run SLI.

Even though it says to be SLI certified?

Yeah.
They got that certification when they were approving 6600GT cards. :D

Do you think this PSU would supply enough juice for 2 - 7600GTs and no more than a P4 650?
thanks

Yeah. It can do that.
