Hello everyone,
Been looking at PSU's to replace my Antec TP2 lately and these two have really caught my eye. Both are modular, quiet, and powerful, all of which are top priorities for me.

Silverstone ST75F - $150 incl. shipping
http://www.case-mod.com/store/silverstone-sst75f-st75f-zeus-series-750w-750-watt-modular-power-supply-p-2027.html

Corsair 620HX - $165, free shipping
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=373110

Right now I'm running an Opty 165/X1900XT/2GB RAM/250GB HDD but plan on upgrading my video card to a DX10 offering this winter, hence the PSU upgrade. Right now the Silverstone looks like the much better deal, but what is everyone here's opinion?

I have been testing the Corsair 620W for several weeks & it is bullit proof!

We have been unable to fine a single highend SLI/CF system it wont run &
it is very quiet powering a Intel EE OC'ed to 4.5GHz (WC) with a pare of 7900GTX's, with 6 HDD's.

Best damn PSU I have ever seen! ;)

Is it really better than the 750W Silverstone though? The ST75F almost seems like too good a deal to pass up at $150.

Also, if there are any other recommendations (<$175, modular, quiet, ready for DX10) then please say.

this is very close neck to neck comparison IMO. Thats why I'm waiting on jonny's autopsy. The Corsair has the overall package: 5 years warranty, high efficiency, nice cables, and of course well built by Seasonic. However, on paper the ST75F seems to be a better deal, with more power for less the price. But I'm not sure how well it will do on the benchy; since well it blew up on jonny's attempt. ;)

One of the advantages I see of the Corsair, M-12 & Antec HE,
is their ability to put their +12V amperage on any rail requiring it,
this may be very important with these new ATI DX10 GPU's. ;)

I'm afriad the voltage regulation is better on the Corsair, even when the ST75F is run only within the load the Corsair is capable of. The efficiency of the Corsair is also better.

The Silverstone is a good value and does put out a lot of power, but if the Corsair is enough power and within the budget, it's a better choice.

Thanks for the info jonny, looks like I'll be getting the Corsair. :)
