Finally! A review of the "Cow Udder Edition" Hiper Type-R 730W!

Based on a server grade Andyson AD-730, this may turn out to be a decent modular power supply.

Good find.

I can read all that much German,
but even I could figure this one out: http://www.technic3d.com/?site=article&action=article&a=351&p=8

Ironically enough I find technical writing in german easier to read than anything else

Same here. Complaints were no 3.3V on the SATA and backwards compatibility (I think?) I'm guessing because the cables hang into the case over the motherboard.

I don't really see a lack of 3.3V on the SATA as a negative. Nobody has bothered to use 3.3V on a drive yet.

Err, kind of strange having the "udders" hang down into the case. The wiring will run right into the HSF in most cases.(pun intended)

Yeah. The initial press release of this unit claimed it was a "BTX" power supply because of the clearance issues.

Now that BTX is dead, I wonder how they'll market this bad boy.

For inverted non-divided cases?

Or for those of us that don't use a case ;)

Antec nine hundred.. Silverstone TJ-09.. I think this would work for a lot of cases (pun intended) as long as they don't use those inch long metal connectors on the Type R 580.

Jonny, recommendation / question: A power supply with Retractable cables. You know like a measuring tape, but with wire (like in a flexforce style, so it's flat together), and modular too.
that would kick ass.
