I have three builds here that I have installed Vista onto.

The motherboard is the Bad Axe 2: D975XBX2.

If I search Intel's site, the only install they have of Viiv is 1.6.0 upgrade. You can't install it without 1.5 or better installed.

Other than this (by using search or clicking on "additional downloads"), I can only find Viiv for XP Media Center. I've even tried installing THAT and it says "Incorrect version of Windows."

I'm spinning my wheels here! Where the hell is Viiv 1.5 for Vista???

Looks like you aren't the only one.

You need Home Premium or Ultimate (32-bit) for one, and then you'll need the 1.6 FULL version or nothing will do, not even 1.5 (which is XP only on your motherboard CD). The dealer and distributors will have that and obviously so does Intel, but for 3 months now, they haven't provided any support for this.

But here it is: Intel Viiv 1.6 Full Download for Vista (http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=21036&dscr=Windows%20Vista%20Intel%20VIIV%20Software%20v ersion:%201.6.429.0&uid=149673535)

Ignore the Gateway thing. It should work ;)
