:wtf: are you serious?

Where did you get those prices from? Wow, I mean Whoad I mean good God!!

I know Intel reduced the prices drastically thinking its got DAAMIT in a rat trap now, but WTH, that is extreme.

So, X2 6000 or E6600... which should be at around the same price by the end of April after both Intel and AMD dropped their prices :D

Wow, if that's right the entry level dual core will be around $75. Not bad at all.

Ummm..

Go to any major etailer, look up the CPU you are interested in, and deduct the amount show in the price drop table, that will be the approximate price when the drop happens.

AMD - 04/09
Intel - 04/22 (I hear 04/29)

And AMD has already done a pre-drop price drop, via instant rebates.

Distributor-only "instant rebates" are used before announced price drops to lower CPU costs before official price drops. Stockholders don't see massive instant rebates, they don't come through on the POS reports. (These are distributor only instant rebates)

Interestingly enough, the vast majority of the items with HUGE disty instant rebates are the one's listed as "EOL" in my original post. ("Cleaning out my Channel" Ala Eminem, but with Hector Ruiz singing)

Coincidence? I think not! And a major Etailer is snapping up almost all of our rebated CPUs.

MODEL INSTANT REBATE
ADA4200CUBOX 52.00
ADO4200CUBOX 52.00
ADA4600CUBOX 71.00
ADO4600CUBOX 71.00
ADA3000CNBOX 15.00

The FX-7x series are per pair of course for the Quadfather platform (a single FX-74 is $499.99 on Newegg right now)

Based on that last list, it seems AMD is aiming for the low-budget market... And they don't even place a quad core solution underneat the Q6600 (why would they EOL the FX-70?)

SuperSix - I've heard from someone of the engineering department at AMD now, the news agrees with what you said initially. ;)

Chozart- Agena FX is releasing for the desktop (8x8)

Lookout for Q2 some time, mid or late. I've heard they maybe releasing some earlier than expected.

Well, Newegg's already selling the OEM x2 3600+ Brisbane for $73 shipped as of this past weekend using a coupon code (if you get their email newsletter).

That's CPU talk for different revisions of a CPU, for the most part.
