Whaaa? I know some companies are going to be showing R600 cards (heck, the press release I received from GeCube basically shouted that they were going to be showing one) but the actualy LAUNCH date is supposed to be sometime in late April.

My money is on another soft-launch from our buddies at ATI with product being available sometime in late May.

That's the most accurate report I've seen along with a fella who owns a roadmap site. Both agree on details and the latest reports are saying 30th is a could be, so I "dunno". Heard it was the GDDR4 version dubbed X2900XTX that was releasing now and the GDDR3 version that was releasing a month later, end of April-early May

Who knows, we'll wait and see. Its all rumour yet.

So how much have you saved up yet? That is, as you say, "old news". Look at the date stamp: 16th of February. That was before the cancellation of the R600 launch day event in Amsterdam and the associated "new" delay.

In mid-February, R600 was due to launch at CeBit. Now it's due to launch in mid-May because ATI/AMD cocked it up. (Or, if you believe the official story, because they decided to delay the launch of the high-end part in order to launch it at the same time as the mid- and low-end ones.)

I just hope that the delay is just so they can have enough in stock for it to be a hard launch, and not a paper launch...

Release.. you mean this was whats being delayed: http://www.chilehardware.com/foro/r600xtx-calendario-de-t63761.html?p=845890#post845890

OR simply not mentioned properly as the latest reports state: http://news.softpedia.com/news/AMD-Says-the-R600-Delay-Is-Only-a-Marketing-Scheme-49061.shtml

Q1 mentioned as the schedule still ;)
