I have this 600W PSU that I think should be 80 Plus certified because it's 84% efficient typical. It's over 80% at 20% and 50% loads, but is only 79.5% efficient at 600W (full load.)

All of this is at 110V input.

Does 80 Plus say what input voltage they use for certification? Do they use 115V? I looked on the 80 Plus website, but can't find it. :(

Oops! Found it in one of the PDF's. They sure don't make it obvious!

115V input.

Time to run tests again and see if the 5V makes a difference. ;)

To meet the 80Plus good-guy award standard, the unit must be 80% efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated output. I did read that at thier site awhile back as well as at SPCR.

According to Kevin at Enhance, on 6/06, anything over 85% @ 115V is real majic for a stand alone PC PSU. I do hope other areas of PSU performance don't suffer as they rush to out do eachother with efficiency ratings.

Yeah.. I know about the 20/50/100.

I just didn't know at what input voltage, and that matters! Because at higher input voltages, you get better efficiency. Something that's 79% efficienct at 110V may be 82% efficient at 220V input.

Look at the difference the input voltage made for the Silverstone ST85ZF: http://www.jonnyguru.com/PSU/ST85ZF/index2.htm

So this efficiency is to be expected over a range of temperatures?

Good question!

Dammit! 80 Plus needs to put this all in one place!!!!

Navigating their site for specific info is a nightmare. Why the hell does one have to sift through reams of pdf for this?
