2.0A P4 to 2.26B P4 :wall:

Let's see... that would have to be when I went from my Radeon 7200 AGP 64MB to the nForce2 IGP on my Aopen AK79G-Max. The IGP was a little faster, especially with 128mb allocated, but it was barely noticeable.

ROFLMAO - What about me? Bcuz of my crappy Antec causing file corruption errors for the past 3-4 years -

Abit IC7 => Abit IC7-G
P4 2.4C => 3.0E
ATI 9500 => ATI 9800NP
PC2700 ram => PC3200
3 different IDE Controller cards
New set of rounded cables

On top of that - I kept buying hard disks to backup my original ones. All this on one system!!!

Believe me - it ran me more than a pretty penny~

I can't find anyone more dumb-assed than me as of the moment.

I dunno BBQ - I wouldn't say is IDE cables are useless upgrades if you wanted the yellow in the first place. It's not like black gave u higher speeds n such. I see it more as change of color scheme than anything else =oP

Yea, after I wrote Type R on the yellow ide, I was getting like, 400mb/s through it. :lol:

It was a cosmetic upgrade, actually.

Odyssey used to make these steering dampeners that were basically screnn door hydraulics with a couple clamps that would go from the down-tube to the fork.

That was dumb.

Never been dumb with upgrades. Being a poor student, it comes with the territory. ;)

Upgrading my gaming box from a K7/Via to K8/754 with that NVidia 250 GB chipset hat had the "hickups" problems with 68xx cards. The speed difference between the CPU's wasn't that great and the NVidia chipset trouble was incredible.

I switched back to Intel not because of the CPUs, because of the chipsets.

my first gaming case was so crap its stock supplied psu didn't even have long enuff wires to reach the hard drive bay:wall: still got it, just waiting to get an akasa eclipse 62, my most expensive case

apart from that, not upgraded since first proper build, too scared to lose cash, but overspent on a secondhand system with some good parts, got caught up in bidding, not badly so,. It got damaged in the post from germany, too, the case, and there were bits rolling around over the motherboard, which remarkably has survived and given no troulbe at all, its an asus.

had 3 dfi motherboards:o at one time, still got 2, one I tihnk is duff

no real howlers tho'. praps a matter of opinion, perhaps I am actually running to hi end stuff for my needs, after taking too much notice of reviews.

not quite as bad as my friend, who spent probably double the price he should have, buying from a place called maplins, he got real duff stuff and paid, well equal of near $1700 or so, including around...$100 for a qtec psu.......yes really........, and ECS motherboard.

its all that kind of quality, still shows how you can get done if you aren't so smart. I don't think he trusts the web to buy from, and it was local to him, and he's disabled, so I'll forgive him, still pains you tho', he's stubborn and I wanted to help him, but you gotta let peeps learn themselves. he had no end of problems from the rig, too)

Amen buddy. I have such a limited budget that I scower the face of the planet for the best "bang for my buck" upgrade.
