OK......I've ended up with two new power supplies due to impatience and FedEx being a butthead delivery service AGAIN and being two days late with my delivery.

So, now I've got a Corsair HX620W and a PCP&C Silencer 610......so which should I keep to use and which should be returned?

It'll be running, as of this moment, an Intel Bad Axe 2 motherboard, C2D E6400, 2 x 1GB Buffalo Firestix DDR2-800, Radeon x1950 Pro, Seagate 320GB 7200.10 SATA hard drive, couple of opticals, etc., etc.

Not fixated on either.....modular cabling is nice but I can live without it.

They're both built by Seasonic. The Corsair will likely be quieter and has the modular cables so I'd give it the nod over the PCP&C even though they'd like to lead you to believe that both the 120mm fan and modular interface are the devil incarnate. The truth of it is that neither is a hundredth as bad as they'd like to lead you to believe.

Well, I have seen through the PCP&C FUD crap about the modular cables. That in itself sorta miffs me so bad that I almost am willing to discount the PCP&C power supply simply because of that.

But, the ripple in the 1KW test Jonny posted was incredible on the PCP&C ps. I just wonder if I could expect the same in a Silencer or would it more resemble the Corsair? I DO like the Corsair's looks more....dig the red!

The 1KW is built by WinTact not Seasonic so they're like comparing apples to nectarines. The two that you have now are both built by the same OEM so I'd imagine that the ripple will be pretty close on both of them.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest keeping the cheaper unit. :D

Consider the warranty and if u have windowed case or ur a neat freak. If u dont care for either, then as SuperNade said - keep the cheaper one =oP

Well, after considering everything........the PCP&C ps is back in its box and the Corsair is being kept. Part was the looks, part was the modular cables, part was the disgust of PCP&C's FUD about so much surrounding power supplies and how everyone else is wrong about this and that. C'est la vie.

Now, I was impressed with the PCP&C 1KW ps and is lack of ripple, but as this is a Seasonic, as we know, I just don't think it's worth any more or any better than the Corsair and certainly looks worse and is much less user friendly.

Thanks guys!

Oh.....and the cheaper one by far was the Corsair.....under $115 after rebate.
