I was searching for this, but found nothing, so... here goes.
Scythe Infinity, one of the bigest coolers around, uses a mounting mecanism similar to the one used by Intel's stock cooler. It's clear that those plastic pins can't hold the heatsink very well and also the can't put some presure on the CPU. After I read about this on XS I thought I should try this.

What is needed:
- four M4 screws
- knobs or... how the F..K you say "piuliţă" on English?
- at least 12 galvanized flat washers, but 24 will be better
- four insulating washers... plastic, rubber, cardboard...
- springs
Because my hometown is pretty small (~65.000 people) and with an industry almost inexistent, I was forced to improvize. And the guys from some shops looked at me like <insert stupid word here> when I asked for those springs. I made some rubber washers out of the rubber from a bycicle tires and the springs were replaced by a package of those rubber things.

The HS is not mounted yet because I'm (still) waiting for the testing parts to arive (blame Micutzu (http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/member.php?u=283) for this :D). The price on the other hand, was very insignificant: nearly hafl a $. One mounting kit for WB's that has the springs, screws, knobs and plastic washers is ~5$, so...
PS: Sorry for my stupid language.
