*Warning: Memory thread*:D
Can you see a difference between these two sets of modules? It seems like I would be paying an extra 15 bucks for red heat spreaders.
Blingy red heat spreader + 15 bucks modules-

Not so blingy but apparently identical modules-

I'm an nVidia fan anyways, so I wont be susceptable to the bling on the first.
Any differences besides bling that anyone knows of?
*corrected spelling mistakes... too early in the morning I suppose*

Exact same specs as you must've seen on OCZ, Paul :)
same voltage warranty , same timings, both ATI certified. Yeah it's the paint job + logo
now off course to be sure you'd have to take the heatspreaders off to check the ICs if they match too...

I think I saw a review of the two side by side that showed both modules performing at the exact same level.
Just a head's up to anyone considering the red stuff, it's the same as the silver stuff. :D

I imagine some fanboys still going for that red one. a good color combo with the DFI RD600 mobo :D
Are you progressing on your RAM quest Paul Taylor ? Funny uh You came here with those red ones and now you find much better and/or for less cash :p
I came here, dismissing the Linkworld 580w PSUs I'd get for 17 euros for a Thermaltake Thoughpower, and now I'm proud to have my Corsair HX 620
ahhh neverending knowledge

I don't OC, I just want some good memory with tight timings that is stable with my Intel D975XBX2. (800mhz)
I was told that Micron chips are only really important to people who want to OC.

why don't you oc? its like getting free extra performance....
then just get some cheaper ram

Well mostly I don't OC because I have no idea how.

Ya know, Patriot (http://www.patriotmem.com/products/detailp.jsp?prodline=5&catid=2&prodgroupid=1&id=431&type=1) has some DDR2 that runs with insanely tight timings you'd probably love.

3-3-3-8 @ 1000Mhz?? Wow.

Yeah, I was looking at this Super Talent stuff that looked pretty tight on the timings. I'm debating whether or not I should force myself to get that and quit thinking about RAM for a few years. :p

this list isnt accurate. seems companies have been dumping their 6400 series of the D9 IC's lately. very few on that list in that speed are D9 now.... and seemingly a lot of users reporting on it. guess its time for them to update.
