For my new mobo, while I wait for the prices of the other CPU's to drop.
Any thoughts?

P.S. Sorry for starting so many new threads, I've just been going through the upgrading works lately. You guys are honestly the most responsive and helpful techies I have seen on the 'net. Five stars for JonnyGuru.com.

Netburst FTL. Heat, power consumption, lack of speed, the works.
Stomach the extra $20 and get the E6300 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115005). You'll thank us later on.

I would go with a E4300 at about the same price, before I would get that PD IMAO;)
This way you'll familarize yourself with the C2D's and be ready to OC like a champ when you get your E6600:D
Just remember, even if you do decide to get the 945 and clock it to 4GHZ, the E6600 will still be light years ahead of your PD in performance and power usage:p

Yeah, I'm just going to stomach a 2.8 P4 and save towards my E6600.
Thanks for the head's up, especially the Netburst warning. I was afraid of that.
My 18th B-Day is coming up... Anyone want to contribute to the E6600 fund? :p :D

Wow, I might go for the 6400. Apparently the 2mb/4mb cache isn't a huge performance difference, and this thing is about 100 bucks cheaper.
