Today we are going to be looking at one of the newer units from Rosewill, the FORTRESS 750W. Rosewill had a good showing last time with the Capstone 750W unit pulling in a 9.1 for a final score. With the FORTRESS series boasting Platinum efficiency over the Capstones Gold rating, will we see other improvements as well? Let’s read on and find out.

As OklahomaWolf pointed out in the Capstone review, Rosewill is NewEgg’s house brand. We’ve now had two units from Rosewill showing that even the house brand can pack a punch when needed. With a name like FORTRESS and the fact that this unit is Platinum rated, and carries a 7-year warranty, one is likely to think this unit is going to be indestructible. Today we will be putting the Rosewill FORTRESS 750W PSU through our PSU torture tests just to see how indestructible it really is.
Looking at the rear of the box, we find what little marketing there is on this box. Over toward the left-hand side, we have a list of features.

In the middle, we have a chart showing the connectors for each of the four units in this line. In addition, over on the right-hand side, we have the DC Output charts for each of the forum models as well.
Upon opening the box, we find the Rosewill FORTRESS 750W unit well packed in two foam pads, with the cabling and extras, tucked in on the right side.
The extras include the User Manual, the AC Power cord, a bag of zip ties, and a bag of screws.
Here we have a 3/4 shot of the PSU itself. I must say this “Special Black Coating” does look good for a matte black finish.
Although the FORTRESS looks similar to the Capstone series, they are in fact different units.
